Common Problems
Below we've listed some of the common problems that crop up when using the University LMS (CE6) and, where possible, we describe steps you can take yourself to fix them.
If your specific problem is not on this list, please contact the helpdesk via our email form. Our helpdesk is open 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday.
Please refer to the menu on the left for information on Logging In or Missing Sites.

You may have a pop-up blocker (especially if the links are supposed to open in new windows) or, alternatively, you may not have the appropriate plug-in installed on your computer. For more information, see our page on Inactive Links.
See our Guide on using Discussion Tools. If that doesn't help, then contact us via our email form.
See our Guide on using Assessment Tools. If that doesn't help, then contact us via our email form.
See our Guide on the Assignments Tool. If that doesn't help, then contact us via our email form. (Note: not all units of study require that you submit your assignments through the unit's eLearning site. Always check with your lecturer if you are unsure about the appropriate manner of submission.)
See our Guide on using Email (i.e. the Mail tool) within a site. If that doesn't help, then contact us via our email form.
This can be caused by problems with the links themselves or missing plug-ins. See our page on Inactive Links.
Note: If you can download the notes / materials but a) can't open the file or b) can't make sense of the contents once the file is open, you should contact your lecturer to get the materials delivered in a more appropriate format. (Tip: Check the suffix of the filename. For documents ".doc" is better than ".ps", or for images, ".jpg" or ".gif" are better than ".tiff").
See our page on Library Reading Materials.
Exam results are not shown in My eLearning. Instead, you need to go to MyUni http://myuni.usyd.edu.au, log in, and look under My Study > Log in to Student Administration. There you can see exam results, exam seating, timetables, web enrolment variation, and other student admin services.
