We hold many of the images published in the 'University of Sydney News' and Alumni magazine the 'Gazette', as well as images produced for departmental histories or donated from family collections.
You can search approximately 5000 images of University buildings, events, students, staff and surrounds on Mediabank. Not all images have been scanned, and researchers may submit a request for images (pdf, 31KB) that they wish to view.
Tips for searching
- Mediabank uses boolean searching: AND, NOT, OR, and wildcard * at the end of words.
- For instance to search for Patricia Lahy, use Pat* AND Lahy.

Professor John Smith and Harold Cazneaux images
- To search for the full set of John Smith images, search "John AND Smith AND Collection".
- To view all the Harold Cazneaux images taken to commemorate the University's jubilee, search "Cazneaux AND 1927".
