Application for review or appeal

Use this form to request a review of an individual task grade or to appeal your final DEC result.

Before you submit an application, please consider carefully if you have a genuine reason for requesting a review or appeal. You may be disappointed with your result even though the result is fair and a reflection of your work.

Genuine reasons for requesting a review are:

  1. a possible clerical / administrative error (eg. a data entry error)
  2. demonstrable inconsistency in scoring eg with a similar task

Genuine reasons for requesting an appeal are:

  1. a clerical error (e.g. a data entry error)
  2. a reason for granting special consideration (and you have not been granted special consideration for the task previously)
  3. other compassionate and compelling circumstances (these are circumstances that are out of your control)

Outcome of a review or appeal

If you proceed with a request for a review of an individual task grade or appeal of final DEC result, the outcome is final and your original grade is no longer valid. Be aware that the outcome of a review or appeal may be either:

  1. Not upheld: the original grade(s) is reinstated
  2. Not upheld: the final grade awarded is lower than the original grade
  3. Upheld: the final grade awarded is higher than the original grade.
