The Sydney Professional Certificate in Foundations in Higher Education is primarily designed to introduce university teachers to current principles, practices, debates and research in higher education.
Candidates are encouraged to develop scholarly, research-led approaches to teaching while engaging in activities and tasks aimed at cultivating critical reflection about higher education.

University of Sydney staff or affiliates applying for a fee-waiver scholarship must provide (a) their staff or affiliate ID number, (b) a copy of their appointment contract (must be a minimum of one year), (c) all relevant academic transcripts, and (d – affiliates only) evidence that they will be teaching enrolled University of Sydney students during the applicant’s period of candidature.
