Honours subject area

About this honours subject area

Agriculture is the science and practice of producing food, fibre, and other resources in ways that are productive, sustainable, and resilient. It draws on disciplines such as plant and animal science, soil science, agronomy, agribusiness, environmental management, and emerging technologies like precision agriculture and automation. With increasing global demand for food and the challenges of climate change, resource efficiency, and environmental stewardship, agriculture is a critical field for innovation and impact. As part of this honours course, you’ll undertake an independent research project under the guidance of expert academic supervisors, supported by advanced coursework to sharpen your technical, analytical, and critical thinking skills. You’ll produce a portfolio of written and oral work that demonstrates your expertise and prepares you for careers in research, industry, or further study at a higher degree level.

Agriculture honours projects are available to students who have graduated with a BSc/BAS Agriculture Stream or are enrolled in the Bachelor of Agricultural Science Honours degree.

Unit of study requirements for honours in Agriculture: completion of 24 credit points of project work and 12 or 24 credit points of advanced coursework.
