About this honours subject area
Animal and veterinary bioscience explores the biology of animals in relation to their health, welfare, productivity, and role in society. It draws on disciplines such as physiology, genetics, nutrition, behaviour, ecology, and disease management to understand and improve the lives of animals in agricultural, companion, and wild settings. With global challenges in food security, sustainable production, biodiversity conservation, and animal welfare, this field is vital to both research and industry. As part of this honours course, you’ll undertake an independent research project under the guidance of expert academic supervisors, supported by advanced coursework to sharpen your technical, analytical, and critical thinking skills. You’ll produce a portfolio of written and oral work that demonstrates your expertise and prepares you for careers in research, industry, or further study at a higher degree level.
Animal and Veterinary honours projects are available to students who have graduated in the Animal and Veterinary Stream or have graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Bioscience or equivalent degree.
