Innovation and entrepreneurship knowledge and skills are critical to thriving in a complex and dynamic global economy while making meaningful advances towards the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. Organisations in all sectors require entrepreneurial leaders who can transform innovative ideas into positive impact. In this major, you will develop an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset along with the practical skills required to disrupt with purpose.

Our Innovation and Entrepreneurship major offers students from across the University a range of study pathways tailored to different interests, including technological innovation, social entrepreneurship, digital disruption, and sustainability-focused innovation and entrepreneurship. Units of study are drawn from diverse subject areas including Business; Arts and Social Sciences; Engineering; Science; Architecture, Design and Planning; and Music.

You will have the opportunity not only to collaborate with peers from diverse disciplinary backgrounds to creatively solve real-world problems, but also to apply your learning in a range of areas that includes building new ventures and launching start-ups, design thinking for new product or service development, social and technological innovation for sustainability, music festivals and arts event management, and digital games.

With an emphasis on experiential and project-based learning opportunities, you will gain the practical skills and experience to launch new for-profit and social ventures and to lead innovation projects in private, public or not-for-profit organisations.

As a primary discipline, or as a complement to another field of study, a major in Innovation and Entrepreneurship will give you a competitive advantage in the workplace and open up a wide range of career pathways across numerous sectors.
