Program

The information on this page refers to 2023 intake into our Animal and Veterinary Bioscience program.

Our Animal and Veterinary Bioscience program will give you fundamental and applied knowledge in animal bioscience.

You will acquire a broad overview of both domestic animals and wildlife species, how they interact with their environment, and an integrated comparative knowledge in fields such as applied biotechnologies, reproduction and nutrition.

This will be supported by detailed knowledge of animal structure and function and a focus on application of innovative approaches and technologies to enhance animal management and welfare.

You will also study animal behaviour and management systems that respect ethical and environmental concerns, and promote animal welfare.

For more information on the program structure and content, view theĀ Science Undergraduate Handbook.

A program in Animal and Veterinary Bioscience allows you to develop an additional level of expertise in field by building upon the embedded major with additional units of study.

Graduate opportunities

You will benefit from the industry-oriented science-based education, which will prepare you for a career in a wide variety of veterinary and animal science industries.
