Specialisation

The information on this page relates to the 2023 intake of this specialisation.

Our Aerospace Research specialisation is tailored towards high-achieving aeronautical and space engineering students wanting the opportunity to undertake additional research projects in aerospace.

The specialisation offers the opportunity to undertake multiple supervised single-semester research projects during the course of the degree, embedded within existing research groups, leading towards a pathway for postgraduate research training or a career after graduation.

It will allow you to undertake cutting edge research in your chosen field, gaining experience in computational or experimental methods, with an opportunity for publication of your findings.

Graduate opportunities

As a graduate of our Aerospace Research specialisation, you will be able to pursue career opportunities in academic and/or industry research (including the possibility to undertake higher degrees by research, such as our Doctor of Philosophy (Engineering)) or joining a relevant research organisation such as the Defence Science and Technology Group, and/or aerospace companies with Research and Development (R&D) activities.

It will prepare you to pursue a career in a technical role with consultancy companies, agencies dealing with patents, defence organisations, space and/or aviation agencies, aerospace research groups and/or companies, or academic careers after completing higher-level research degrees.
