Specialisation

The information on this page relates to the 2023 intake of this specialisation.

Our Engineering Data Science specialisation is tailored to develop the mathematical, analytical and technical skills needed to create solutions to guide data-driven decision making.

The specialisation will focus on the core aspects of data science and explore the latest in computational statistics, large-scale data processing, data mining, machine learning and data visualisation.

It will also provide you with the necessary soft skills needed to effectively interpret and communicate these data insights to key stakeholders.

Graduate opportunities

As a graduate of our Engineering Data Science specialisation, your knowledge and skills in data science will be in high demand across a wide range of industries.

The emergence of sophisticated engineering design and analysis tools and access to incredibly rich data across all areas of engineering is leading to significant changes in the way in which day-to-day engineering practice is typically carried out.

You will be able to apply your learnings to a wide range of engineering domains within Industry 4.0, including autonomous vehicles, smart buildings, green power generation, digital health, and many others that all require the intelligent use of large amounts of multi-dimensional inputs to make good decisions and predictions.
