Progression in a project based career requires an understanding of and ability to develop the capability to manage projects at an organizational level. Organisational project management capability involves innovation, change, understanding of the challenges of complexity and the needs of different project types. It also requires an understanding of three levels of capability ' project, program and portfolio ' and of the relationship between business as usual and projects.

Graduate opportunities

Many organisations are recognizing the importance of organizational project management capability to effective implementation of their strategy. There are many roles opening up in project, program and portfolio management offices (PMO). This major would be suitable for those aspiring to contribute to or lead the project management function in an organization.
