Specialisation

The information on this page relates to the 2023 intake of this specialisation.

Our Structures specialisation will provide you with the essential technical skills and knowledge related to structural engineering, including advanced structural analysis, structural behaviour and structural dynamics.

Structural engineers develop and test innovative solutions that take into account natural environmental forces such as wind, waves and earthquakes and their effects when designing and planning buildings. They also assess certain stresses caused by the modern environment, such as the traffic of both cars and people.

Graduate opportunities

As a graduate of our Structures specialisation, you will be able to specialise in the construction of infrastructure ranging from bridges and tunnels, buildings or other large constructions such as oil installations.

Previous engineering graduates have gone on to be involved in the construction of major iconic structures, including the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
