School Psychology 3 - EDMT6623

This unit of study is designed to introduce the students to issues and concepts related to counselling children and adolescents within the school setting. The focus will be on accurate interviewing and other assessment of the concerns, the development of therapeutic and intervention plans appropriate for students within the educational environment, and home and community settings when necessary, and the processes and skills required in counselling, including specific skills related to key therapies, with a focus on internalising mental health issues.

1x3-hr seminar/wk for 12 wks

2000wd presentation and handout (40%) and pamphlets (3x15%) and annotated bibliography (15%) in specified mental health area (3000wd total)
