Big Data, Algorithms, and Security - FASS3998

We live awash in a sea of data, collected and processed by sophisticated algorithms. This unit examines key concepts and debates about the data and algorithms involved with security, ranging from civil liberties and accountability to counter-terrorism. Students will work together on projects in multidisciplinary teams. Department permission required.
