Skills for Working in Global Health - GLOH5102

Year - 2020

This core unit for the Master of Global Health will give students some of the practical skills for working in the field of global health. Skills developed will fall within the broad categories of Leadership, Context, Communication, and Methods. This interactive unit will both teach principles of the skills and allow students to practice and hone these skills for themselves. The content will be grounded in global health concerns and aim to equip student with the core competencies to work in this complex field.

Classes
1.5-hour facilitated face to face/ online content and 2-hour tutorial/distance learning session for 12 weeks

Assessment
1x1500 word assignment (25%), 1x training session evaluation with written and oral components (1500 word equivalent) (25%), 1x2500 word assignment (40%), tutorial discussion (1000 word equivalent) (10%)
