Dentistry Elective - SDDP1011

Year - 2020

All double degree dentistry students are required to complete a 5 day observational elective placement during their undergraduate degree. Students can elect their own area of study for this unit. This unit provides opportunities for students to select and undertake a project in any aspect of dentistry in which they are interested. It is designed to facilitate professional linkage for students enrolled in the double degree program and to stimulate personal and professional development.

Students develop, implement and report on a program of experiential learning in an area of dentistry that they choose. Each student is to determine their own learning outcomes and develop a learning agreement (~500 words) before their placement. After completion of the placement, each student is required to submit a personal reflection of his or her experience which analyses and critically evaluates the outcomes of the learning agreement (approximately ~1000 to 1,500 words)

Additional information
All students are required to complete the following checks before their placement: Working with Children check (valid for 3 years from date of issue) Criminal record check (valid for 3 years from date of issue) Have all current NSW Health required vaccinations.
