2022 international undergraduate entry

Adjustment for international undergraduate applicants
The University of Sydney recognises disadvantages caused by COVID-19 related disruptions to our international students.

Two ATAR adjustment points will be applied to the published ATAR entry requirements for international students commencing in 2022*. This will allow the University to provide consideration for international applicants whose learning has been impacted by COVID-19.

If you have questions about the process or would like to speak to us about your course, please contact a regional manager or email international.admissions@sydney.edu.au.

*Note: This adjustment is not applicable to certain courses and qualifications.

International applicants who satisfy course prerequisites will automatically have two ATAR adjustment points added to their ATAR score (or equivalent score converted to ATAR) at the point of application.

Here is an example of how the ATAR adjustment is applied.

Sample course Published ATAR Student's ATAR Score after adjustment
Bachelor of Arts 80 78 80
Bachelor of Engineering (flexible first year) 85 83 85

For students who studied International Baccalaureate (IB), A-Levels or other international secondary education qualifications, the scores will be converted to ATAR equivalent, and then the COVID related adjustment will be applied.

Here is an example of how the ATAR adjustment point is applied on an IB Diploma.

Sample course Published IB Student's IB score Score after adjustment
Bachelor of Commerce 36 35 36

The adjustment will apply to most of the international secondary education qualifications accepted by the University for applicants applying for courses commencing in 2022.
