Designing for Diversity
Join us for a 120 minute workshop where we explore how to enhance inclusivity in the classroom and lower barriers in the learning environment for students by drawing on the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). This workshop will be an opportunity to understand the designing for diversity mindset and brainstorm ideas for your learning environment.
Topics include:
- Outlining the designing for diversity project
- Discussing your learners and their challenges
- Hearing student and educator voices about the impact of this project
- Identifying barriers in your learning environment that can be lowered or removed to facilitate a better experience for all
In the final 30 minutes of this workshop there will be an opportunity to engage closely with the facilitators and colleagues to think about next steps in your context (which might include your grant application). This workshop seeks to engage people at all levels of educational practice, we welcome all teachers, educational designers and support officers, as well as any other participants who would like to explore designing for diversity in their learning environments.
