Media Practice

Coursework

The Media Practice degrees focus on media industry content production, in a rapidly changing, increasingly global context. Areas of study include writing for media, media liaison, broadcast and online journalism, ethical and legal issues in the media, and international media practice. This course will broaden your written and spoken communication skills, as well as your production skills in print, broadcast and online media. You will also develop a sophisticated understanding of the media industries, audiences and global media environments. Career readiness is offered for all aspects of journalism, particularly content production for print, radio, television, online and convergent media. The Master’s degree elective internship unit offers you the opportunity to gain valuable work experience prior to graduation. The Graduate Diploma and Graduate Certificate courses provide shorter avenues to update and extend your professional skills, or to explore new career directions. Some of the units of study available in these degrees include: News Writing; Dealing with the Media; Online Journalism; and Writing Features.
