Education (Secondary: Science) and Science

About the degree

This combined degree offers students a secondary-school teaching qualification in science; science and geography; or science and mathematics. The two degrees are completed in five years with the possibility of withdrawal to complete a Bachelor of Science only; after Year 1 some units of study may not gain full credit to the Bachelor of Science. The course covers professional teaching, special education, international education, and information and communications technology. School observation and practice teaching are integral components of the professional experiences in this degree.

All students must complete a major in one teaching science area, such as biology, chemistry, physics, or geography and a minor in a second teaching area. Students who wish to teach science exclusively must complete a major in one science; and a minor in a second science discipline.
