Bachelor of Science (Veterinary)

This research degree is only available to students who have completed a minimum of four years of the Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Sydney with a minimum pass grade in all units of study completed to that point.

These resolutions must be read in conjunction with applicable University By-laws, Rules and policies including (but not limited to) the University of Sydney (Coursework) Rule 2014 (the 'Coursework Rule'), the Coursework Policy 2014, the Resolutions of the Faculty, the University of Sydney (Student Appeals against Academic Decisions) Rule 2006 (as amended), the Academic Honesty in Coursework Policy 2015 and the Academic Honesty Procedures 2016. 2 Attendance pattern

The attendance pattern for this course is full time only.

3 Admission to candidature

(1)
Available places will be offered to qualified applicants based on merit, according to the following admission criteria.

Admission to candidature requires the completion of a minimum of four years of the Bachelor of Veterinary Science from the University of Sydney with a minimum pass grade in all units of study completed to that point.

4 Requirements for award

(1)
The units of study that may be taken for the course are set out in the Table of units of study for the Bachelor of Science (Veterinary) (Honours).
(2)
To qualify for the award of the pass degree, a candidate must successfully complete 48 credit points of research units of study.

5 Requirements for the Honours degree

Honours will be awarded to meritorious students who complete the pass degree with a WAM of 65 and above.

6 Award of the degree

(1)
The Bachelor of Science (Veterinary) is awarded in the grades of either Pass or Honours. The honours degree is awarded in classes ranging from First Class to Third Class according to the rules specified in the following table:

Candidates who do not obtain WAM of at least 65 will be awarded the pass degree.

7 Transitional provisions

(1)
These resolutions apply to students who commenced their candidature after 1 January, 2011 and students who commenced their candidature prior to 1 January, 2011 who elect to proceed under these resolutions.
(2)
Candidates who commenced prior to 1 January, 2011 may complete the requirements in accordance with the resolutions in force at the time of their commencement, provided that the requirements are completed by 1 January, 2016. The Faculty may specify a later date for completion or specify alternative requirements for completion of candidatures that extend beyond this time.
