Education (Digital Technologies)

Coursework

The Master of Education (Digital Technologies) is a higher degree for professional educators who are seeking to build their capacity to lead learning and teacher improvement in primary and secondary schools. It is designed for those with teacher qualifications and/or experience who are seeking to gain or update their expertise in Digital Technologies education. The program is unique in providing a pathway for participants to develop both their Technological, Pedagogical and Content Knowledge (TPACK) as well as strategies to lead teacher adoption and implementation of the new Australian Curriculum: Digital Technologies.

The course introduces participants to fundamental computer science concepts that form the basis of the new Digital Technologies learning area, and combines this with an in-depth understanding of effective professional development practices. It provides an in-depth understanding of topics including digital systems and data representation, algorithm design and implementation, teacher training and professional development, and strategic planning and school leadership. The program is suitable for aspiring school leaders, and for teachers seeking further accreditation against the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
