University portal and mobile app upgrade

Upgrading the University's portal (currently referred to as MyUni) will make it easier for students, staff and public to access important information, services and applications offered by the University. As part of the upgrade, we will be upgrading the portals underlying technology as well as that of Sydney Mobile. The replacement technologies for both services were procured towards the end of 2011 with their implementation to commence in 2012.

CampusEAI’s MyCampus 2.0 was selected as the technology to replace the MyUni Student Portal while Blackboard’s Mobile Central will replace Sydney Mobile.

Both of these products will significantly improve the user experience. In particular, MyUni users will benefit from more efficient access to University information, services and applications through the use of single-sign-on.

The new University mobile app will provide access to:

  • Useful Links
  • Important Dates

As well as provide the University with a new platform from which to push targeted key messages to diverse audiences. It is expected that the mobile app will be availble for the beginning of Semester Two with the new portal to shortly follow.
