Fresh salads and vegetables in our salad bar

Full-time study is hard enough without housework

We think the time you save shopping, cooking and cleaning is better spent relaxing and connecting with new friends over good food.

What's on the menu?

We cater for a diverse community of residents and meals are designed to be as international as possible. A typical day could see you waking up to a hot, continental breakfast before class, Italian for lunch between lectures and middle-eastern food for dinner. We also cater for vegetarians — and that doesn’t mean non-stop tofu! Too busy to make it to dinner? Leave us a note and we'll keep it aside for you to collect after class. Fresh fruit is available at all meals.

Tea, coffee and hot chocolate are available 24/7, along with vending machines - all in close proximity to the dining hall.

Start your day with a hearty breakfast that includes a range of cereals, milk, yoghurt, fresh fruit and toast. A hot breakfast, which usually includes bacon, eggs, hash browns and pancakes, is also available daily.

Breakfast is served from 7.30-9.30am on weekdays and from 8.30-10.30am on weekends.

There is always a hot option for lunch or you can help yourself to something from the salad bar. Hot soup is also available during winter.

Lunch is served from 12.30-1.30pm weekdays and weekends.

Dinner offers a choice of two hot meals and a vegetarian option. Salads, vegetables and dessert are available with all meals.

Dinner is served from 5.30-7pm weekdays and 5.30-6.30pm weekends and public holidays.

“The unique reason I enjoy cooking at International House is because of the diversity of cuisine. I feel like cooking for the students is just like cooking for a big family!”
Richard Herrison, Head Chef
