The Clinical Teacher Training (CTT) program is designed to provide health professionals with opportunities to develop skills in teaching, assessment, feedback, mentorship, and journal club presentation. Delivered as a completely online modular program, participants will be provided with theoretical background and opportunities to apply new knowledge and concepts. We welcome participation from health professionals who currently teach University of Sydney students.
The program aims to:
Module 1: Introduction to the CTT program
Module 2: Feedback in the clinical setting
Module 3: Planning and delivering a teaching session
Module 4: Facilitating small group learning in the health professions
Module 5: Key tips for teaching and assessment in the clinical setting
Module 6: Teaching a skill
Module 7: Teaching effective clinical handover
Module 8: Team-based learning: design, facilitation
Module 9: Journal Club and critical appraisal
Module 10: Mentorship
Course dates | Monday 23 May to Friday 17 June 2022 (weekly asynchronous activities requiring approx 6hrs per week) A zoom session will be held on Wednesday 1 June 5.30-7.30pm (Note: Attendance at the Zoom session, where participations will teach a healthcare topic is compulsory for course completion) |

Assessment | The course requires 6 hours of participation per week, which is monitored. Ensure you are able to set aside time for participation before registering. Participants will be formatively assessed on participation in online activities, including a Zoom workshop. At completion of the program, you will receive a certificate, as evidence of formal teacher training.
