Sexual medicine, the branch of medicine concerned with human sexuality and its disorders, attempts to improve sexual health through the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of conditions or diseases that involve sexual function.
Essentials in Sexual Medicine is designed to enhance general practitioner's knowledge, skills and confidence in managing common sexual dysfunctions. This short course will provide you with foundation knowledge in sexual functioning and its variations, upskill in sexual history taking and equip you with referral pathways to other medical and allied health professionals. The hallmark of this short course is the design (problem-based learning with guided reinforcement activities) and delivery (presented by experts with decades of clinical experience in sexual medicine).
The workshop will be delivered in a HI-FLEX format (i.e. attend the workshop in-person or join via Zoom). The overall learning experience includes reading about selected topics prior to the hi-flex session coupled with facilitated interactions of the same topics during the hi-flex session concluding with a structured reinforcing activity (i.e applied learning in your practice) with due input/feedback from experts.
The short course involves a total of 8 hours of learning [pre-session reading of 3 hours, hi-flex session of 4 hours (including breaks) and reinforcing activity of 2 hours].
The activity is RACGP ‘CPD Accredited Activity’ (formerly Category 1) for 40 points.
This activity has also been accredited with 8 PDP hours.
