All users of our systems and equipment: to understand how to use our ICT resources responsibly and safely.

Acceptable use means you:

  • comply with applicable laws, University policies, and Cyber Security Technical Standards
  • uphold our values (excellence, trust, accountability) and protect resources from theft or unauthorised access
  • can make limited personal use that is lawful and not disruptive
  • can connect personal devices to our ICT resources if security standards are met.

You cannot use University ICT resources to:

  • bully, harass, discriminate against, or intimidate anyone
  • access, store, or transmit prohibited or restricted material without approval
  • breach privacy or intellectual property rights
  • gain unauthorised access, or damage University or others' data or hardware
  • send junk mail, chain mail, or for-profit messages
  • engage in excessive or unauthorised financial or commercial use, including generating cryptocurrency without approval.

You are responsible for all activity from your University accounts.

Use of our ICT resources is not considered private and may be monitored. We can limit your access and inspect data.

You should report any suspected cyber security events or vulnerabilities immediately to our:
