The IPPs and HPPs are legal rules for collecting, storing, accessing, using and disclosing personal and health information.

The key components of our privacy management plan are:

  • The Chief Governance Officer assesses privacy access and amendment applications and decides internal reviews.
  • The Manager, Archives and Records Management Services, coordinates data breach management and overall compliance with privacy legislation.
  • Privacy officers assess information requests, privacy complaints, and reports of IPP and HPP breaches
  • Unit Heads ensure their contractors comply with privacy obligations.
  • Staff, affiliates, and students comply with the policy and report data breaches immediately to a privacy officer.
  • Those directing student research must also inform students of their privacy obligations.
