SAPMiC engages within current policy debates by linking academic research with advocacy and policy through partnerships between governmental and non-governmental organisations, private and public groups and regional and international organisations. The Centre also provides several opportunities for researchers to build their experience and expertise in the migration field as interns, visiting scholars and fellows. As a consequence of the Centre, a successful workshop in February 2016 saw the fruitful interaction between academics, industry and government sectors who came together to tackle migration challenges in the aged-care sector.
