This project will focus on the diversity of adaptive genes important for energy balance, metabolism, reproduction and immune response in the platypus. The aim is to analyse adaptive genes using ~60 entire genomes from platypuses from the Australian mainland and Tasmania/King Island. There is also scope to apply this knowledge to a conservation platypus project that assesses the impact of dams in gene flow between platypus populations. This project will involve bioinformatic analyses of genome sequence data and DNA capture approaches.

- Meet initial and ongoing immunisation requirements (e.g. Q-Fever, Vaccinia virus, Hepatitis, etc.)
