The PhD students will be part of a team working on a large NHRMC funded trial of anti-craving agents in the treatment of alcohol use disorder investigating the role of genotypes in predicting treatment response. Students will use a combination of techniques depending on the specific research angle chosen including neuroimaging, clinical psychology, psychophysiology and pharmacogenetics.

Masters/PHD
The project will require multidisciplinary collaboration, involving clinical trials, medicine, genetics, neuroimaging and clinical psychiatry/psychology in an integrative approach. The project will contribute to a large NHRMC funded trial of anti-craving agents in the treatment of alcohol use disorder investigating the role of genotypes in predicting treatment response. There is scope for a range of different clinical angles to investigate within this large project and students will have exposure to the dynamic mentoring program at the NHMRC CRE for Mental Health and Substance Use.
