Touch and vision often work together in our perception of objects around us. This project will examine orientation and spatial frequency tuning in touch and vision and study how they are integrated.
Masters/PHD
The project will use a custom built tactile device displaying tactile orientation to measure orientation and spatial frequency tuning in human observers. This will be combined with visual orientation adn spatial frequency stimuli to study their relative tunings and how they interact and whether they integrate according to a Bayesian Maximum Likelihood model.
