Synopsis

Acquiring digital photos has never been easier and thus has greatly enriched our life, primarily due to the affordability of digital cameras. Although commercial image processing software has offered many retouching techniques such as object extraction and red-eye removal, intensive user interactions are often required to obtain an ideal picture. This project is to investigate novel computer vision and computer graphics techniques to minimize the interaction for image retouching to ease the process of removing/replacing unwanted contents unnoticeably. The research can also be extended for video enhancements, such as for video object manipulation.
