We are seeking a PhD candidate to explore sustainable concrete production using advanced 3D printing technology combined with carbon capture and storage (CCS) techniques to reduce the carbon footprint of construction.

This PhD project aims to innovate in the field of sustainable construction by integrating concrete 3D printing with carbon capture and storage (CCS) technologies. The research will focus on developing sustainable concrete mixes suitable for 3D printing, optimizing printing processes, and incorporating captured carbon dioxide. The successful candidate will investigate various recipes from diverse waste materials to be incorporated into concrete production. The candidate will explore the mechanical and environmental performance of the concrete structures, aiming to provide practical solutions for reducing the environmental impact of the construction industry. This work contributes to the advancement of green construction technologies and promotes a circular economy approach in the building sector.
