Nada Labib is a lecturer and researcher at the Sydney School of Education and Social Work. Her research interests lie in the fields of Sociology of Education, Higher Education and Comparative and International Education. Nada strongly believes in examining education through perspectives of social justice and equity in diverse school contexts, both in Australia and on a global scale. She is particularly interested in frameworks that provide gender equity for young women regarding choice, access to, and participation in higher education and non-traditional careers. She worked on local and comparative research projects that examined young people’s higher education participation and pathways, focusing specifically on students from minority-cultures, regional and rural areas, and disadvantaged backgrounds (e.g., low socio-economic status, refugees and migrants).
