Opportunity to undertake molecular analysis of Hepato-Biliary tumours through the Kolling Institute at RNSH. The HPB Surgical unit at RNSH has a Tumour Bank dating back to 2001.

Synopsis

This contains approximately 600 frozen Hepato-biliary tumour specimens and the associated normal tissue. There are many corresponding serum samples to match these tumour specimens. The tumour bank is linked to a comprehensive prospective clinical database. Students may be interested in either a Master of Surgery or PhD enrolment while undertaking this research. This work will be done in conjunction with the Bowel Cancer and Biomarker Research Lab in the Kolling
