Evaluation of possible head Injuries in construction and sport fields
Summary
This research is geared towards studying the behaviour of a human head during the event of an impact in sport or construction fields. Experimental and numerical studies will be carried out to measure the localised pressure, head acceleration and contact force caused by the impact in a selected event.

Synopsis
This research is geared towards studying the behaviour of a human head during the event of an impact in sport or construction fields. There are many recent incidents reported in relation to head injuries caused by the impact. The consequences of such impacts could range from mild head injuries to loss of lives. There is no clear information available in the published literature about the possible threat levels and the protection level of the current commercially available protective equipment. Experimental and numerical studies will be carried out to measure the localised pressure, head acceleration and contact force caused by the impact in a selected event. The obtained results will be compared with threshold limits for critical components of a human head.
