All members of the Brass Studies Unit are active performers as soloists or as members of Symphony and Chamber ensembles. Their work is documented in CDs, major motion pictures as well as many radio and television broadcasts.

Synopsis

The Brass Studies Unit offers research opportunities in contemporary and historical based performance practices through close collaboration with key colleagues in the Jazz and Early Music Units.  Creative work of the Brass Unit staff at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music is featured in concert venues throughout Australia and overseas. The research output of the Brass Unit staff range from expertise in Brass pedagogy, the commissioning of contemporary Australian composers, to research into the significance of the 17th Century Dutch visits to Australia.
