Acute and chronic therapy: Factors that influence patient adherence and persistence

Summary

Studies in the literature have highlighted factors that impact patient adherence to acute and chronic therapy, across several disease states. However, there are many gaps in the area of factors that impact adherence and persistence, specifically:a)       in acute and chronic diseases in children; and b)       how factors may change with time, and with the inclusion of other confounders such as increased medication numbers, comorbidities, ageing etc
