About Dr Marina Robinson

Dr Marina Robinson is currently a lecturer in violin at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She holds BMus (first class honours) and MMus degrees from the University of Western Australia and a doctorate from the University of Tasmania. For six years Marina was a lecturer in violin at the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music, an institution highly regarded for its outstanding contribution to Australian string pedagogy and performance. Marina was the associate concertmaster of Sydney-based Australian Brandenburg Orchestra with which she performed as a soloist and toured nationally and internationally for thirteen years. Themes of Marina’s research include violin pedagogy, historically informed performance practice and she is currently engaged in a project entitled ‘Cognitive and psychomotor change in string players.’
