About Dr Ashnil Kumar

My research is about deriving state-of-the-art algorithms for medical image analysis algorithms and adapting them for clinical workflows and other practical applications, such as computer-aided diagnosis.

My expertise is at the convergence of computerised image processing, machine learning, and biomedical and health informatics.

Image analysis algorithms I have developed for are being used and trialled in a number of clinical settings. I am a Chief Investigator and member of the ARC Training Centre for Innovative BioEngineering, where I am leading one of research projects.

Many of my research projects are conducted in close collaboration with clinical staff and students may have the opportunity to engage with my clinical collaborators as part of these projects.
