Professor Philip Gale is interested in supramolecular chemistry and in particular the molecular recognition, sensing and lipid bilayer transport of anionic species.

Prof Gale's research groups works on transmembrane anion transport may lead on to new treatments for diseases such as cystic fibrosis and to the development of new anti-cancer agents.

Prof Philip Gale is a Professor of Chemistry and is also the Head of the School of Chemistry.
