About Professor Katherine (Kathy) Belov

Kathy studies the evolution of the adaptive immune system. By using comparative genomics techniques, she gains insights into the immune response of the Tasmanian devil (particularly in relation to devil facial tumour disease), wallaby, platypus and many other native species.

Prof Kathy Belov is a leader in the field of comparative genomics, particularly marsupial and monotreme immunogenetics.
