Money Talks: household finance, intimacy and cultural negotiation in Chinese-Australian couples/families

Research into Chinese mainlanders gender roles, finances and other household issues

My research looks at how Chinese mainlanders, living in Australia, navigate intimacies and gender roles, including finances and other household issues.

I am interested in how cultural upbringing, including marital traditions and rituals, might impact these dynamics.

Participants will be involved in ONE 1.5-2 hour audio-recorded interview, either online or in person. During the interview, the participants will be asked about their experiences of living in Australia and their relationship.

*preferably you will have first-hand experience, or have/plan to have the talk of Chinese Bride Price (彩礼) and Dowry (嫁妆) with your partner.
