Study into using re-purposed medication to treat Parkinson's disease

The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of three repurposed medications in slowing the progression of Parkinson’s Disease (PD) and maintaining a positive effect for a period after the medication has been stopped.

This study is being conducted across Australia. A total of 240 participants will be enrolled over 8 sites. Participant involvement in the trial will last 62 weeks which will include 6 visits to the study clinic.

Eligibility

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • are male or female aged 25 to 80 (inclusive)
  • have been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease
  • have been stable on dopaminergic Parkinson’s Disease treatment for at 
    least 4 weeks
