Financial skills in older adults

Over 50? Participate in a study to develop an online test for everyday financial skills.

How well do you manage your finances? Can you easily spot scams? Do you make good financial decisions?

To help answer these questions, researchers at the Brain and Mind Centre invite adults aged 50 and above to participate in a study to develop a new online test for everyday financial skills.

Study participation involves completing a series of surveys and tasks online. You will answer questions about your health and background, technology and financial literacy and complete tasks such as handling cash, paying bills, budgeting, identifying scams and making financial decisions. This will take approximately 1 hour in total. Once you have completed the study, you can enter the prize draw to win a $100 Coles/Myer voucher.

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • are over the age of 50
  • are fluent in English
  • have access to a computer/laptop with internet
  • are able to complete an online survey
