Treating substance use and traumatic stress

This study aims to better understand PTSD and substance use.
We are comparing the efficacy of two psychological therapies for co-occurring substance use and traumatic stress among young people aged 12-21 years.

Through this trial we hope to improve our understanding of how best to treat young people experiencing traumatic stress, who are also using alcohol or other drugs.

After completing a brief screening questionnaire, eligible participants will receive up to 16 weekly sessions with a clinical psychologist. They will also complete three research interviews at baseline, 4- and 12-month follow up.
