Sydney University Swimming Club members won six medals at the NSW Speedo Finals – a result which helped the club’s area – Metro South-East (MetSEA) – to win the overall pointscore.
Lauren McDougall (gold and bronze), Paige Burland (silver and bronze), Angelique Barrett (silver and bronze) and Cecilia Mafi (bronze) all won medals on the day.
Overall, 11 athletes represented SUSC at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre in events where the top six swimmers in each age group (aged eight to 13 ) from each of the 13 different swimming areas across NSW and the ACT raced each other over 50m.
And all 11 SUSC members swam personal best times during the meet.
“This year’s results were the best ever produced by the club and are attributable to the dedication and hard training of all the swimmers,”
