The Brydens Sydney Uni Flames will be desperate for victory this Saturday afternoon, when they take on the OPD Logan Thunder in a must-win Round 12 Wattle Valley WNBL clash at Brydens Stadium.

Following a tough road trip last weekend where the Flames suffered defeats against the top two teams in the league – Bendigo and Dandenong – Sydney Uni will be keen to set things straight against Logan.

Despite last week’s loses there are a number of positives that the Flames can take into this Saturday’s game, including the impressive debut of American import LaSondra Barrett (18 points and 10 rebounds) against Dandenong; and the continued great form displayed by captain Alicia Poto (27 points across the two games).

The Flames will head into Saturday’s game knowing that they need a win to keep within touching distance of the top four, while Logan will head to Sydney full of confidence following a spirited 11 point victory over Canberra on their home court.

Leading the way for Logan in the absence of import Laurie Koehn is former Flames guard Sarah Graham, who racked up 23 points at 58 per cent, as the Thunder produced a blistering 10-of-15 display from beyond the arc.

Graham’s match up against Poto looms as one of the most exciting battles at Brydens Stadium and could be pivotal to the outcome of the game.

Tip-off for this Saturday afternoon’s game against the OPD Logan Thunder is at 3pm at Brydens Stadium at the Sydney Uni Sports & Aquatic Centre.
