Scaling Up Physical Activity for Older Adults

In this webinar, we present an overview of evidence of what works in physical activity for older adults, as well as examples of scalable physical activity programs from around the world. Featuring colleagues from around the globe, this webinar is presented collaboratively by the University of Sydney, World Health Organization Physical Activity Unit and International Society for Physical Activity and Health in celebration of UN International Day of Older Persons.

Watch this special event held in honour of friend and colleague Associate Professor Helen O’Connor. We are pleased to have her colleagues and fellow researchers share their knowledge around a theme close to her heart – women’s research in sports, dietetics, and physical activity. 

Featuring Nikki Jeacocke (Senior Sports Dietitian and Disordered Eating Lead at the Australian Institute of Sport), Dr Janelle Gifford (Introducing the Accelerated Sports Nutrition Assessment Platform),  Geraldine Wallbank (PhD candidate at the Institute for Musculoskeletal Health) and Dr Kristina Warton (Senior Research Officer at Garvan Institute of Medical Research). 

Physical Activity Seminar Series: Lucy Corbett & Dr Juliana De Oliveira

Watch the first of our Physical Activity Seminar Series, presented by the Sport & Physical Activity Research and Teaching Network (SPARTAN) at the University of Sydney. In this session we hear from Lucy Corbet, PhD scholar within the Prevention Research Collaboration at the University of Sydney and Dr Juliana De Oliveira, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Institute for Musculoskeletal Health, a partnership between the University of Sydney and the Sydney Local Health District.
